7 Steps to Becoming a Dynamite Real Estate Agent
April 28, 2009 by Hanna08
Most real estate agents want to be extremely successful and one good way is to be listed on as many Real Estate Agents Directory sites as possible. For that to happen you must first have something to offer before you get to that point. Goals are set and then the hard work begins to reach those goals. So what steps can you take to skyrocket your success as a realtor? Here are 7 powerful steps that will get you on the road to many directory listings:
1. Realize your Potential:
In order to succeed as a real estate agent, you need to see that you have the potential to reach your goals…before you advertise them.
2. Don’t Look Back:
Everyone has failures or mistakes from the past. To have success in the real estate directories, you need to learn from those past mistakes and learn valuable lessons from them. After doing so, simply move forward and make better, more educated decisions from the lessons learned.
3. Dare to Dream Big:
To succeed as a realtor, you need to have big dreams and aspirations. Be honest with yourself as to what you want out of life and what you want to give of your life. Allow your mind to dream and think big!
4. A Powerful Business Plan:
Create a powerful business plan that will organize your strategies. This plan will be the blueprint to your directory success. The business plan should include prospecting, directory listing strategies, prospect follow up techniques, networking ideas, and ways to boost customer loyalty.
5. Don’t Give Up:
To reach success as a real estate agent, you must persevere through difficult times. Even Thomas Edison had to learn this. When he was inventing the incandescent light bulb, it took him more than 10,000 times to get it right. Keep striving even when the challenge seems to be overwhelming.
6. Have an Unstoppable Attitude:
You need to have determination in order to succeed as a realtor. Be wary of close friends or family members that feel it would be better if you focused your attention in another direction or career. Uphold your unstoppable attitude, determined to succeed.
7. Stop Complaining:
You might think there is no correlation between complaining about you difficulties and success, but there is in fact a connection. When you spend time complaining about the obstacles you are facing in you real estate career, you’re wasting so much time being negative that you are actually missing out on chances to move your career forward. Don’t think of challenges as problems, think of them as opportunities.

Here's a short list from doing a very brief search for 'real estate article directory':
(not a directory per se, but you may get a link here if you ask)
I found these in 2 minutes… there are many, many more available. Hit up Yahoo, MSN & Google & just do a search for real estate article directory (no quotes) & dig deep – I'm sure there's probably more than 100 you can find.
Now, I don't think all of these directories will give you a great value – but I personally believe that topical relevancy is more important than page rank, but you have to be sure that the place you're getting links from has a little bit of clout with search engines, too, or your link won't really count.
Something you might want to consider, though – seeking out prominent real estate websites & asking them if they'll publish a unique article on their website in exchange for the link(s) in the author bio. This would have to be a great article & it would have to be unique – but I use this method personally & it does work to get highly-targeted backlinks from authority sites simply for the asking. It's hit & miss with responses to my emails… but it's a viable option & alternative method of link building through article marketing.

Get your license if you can. But just so you know there are $$ fees and dues to pay once you are licensed just to start transacting business. And dependingon were you are, it may take months fo ryou to even receive your license once you pass the test. Here in Vegas it took 6 f**ing MONTHS for me to get my license.
But just so you know, buyers dont pay their Realtors fees, the sellers do. You dont a pay a thing to a Realtor as a buyer.
And when you sell the property, make friends or a deal with a realtor who is willingto be cool for a few deals you will send their way and cut their 3% to 2.5% or something. Instead of one house at 3%, she gets more business doing a deal with you at 3 houses at 2 or 2.5%).
And no, a broker probably wouldnt go for the split you are talking about. You would be a new licensee and most likely on a 70/30 split for awhile. Usally no broker lets new licensees automatically go to 100% commission.
