Help Your Doctor Diagnose Your Night Sweats

May 16, 2009 by

Numerous medical problems add tension to your life, and excessive perspiration is one of those issues. Whether you tolerate abnormal sweat in social situations or moist sheets late at night, sweating to a greater extent than you should can genuinely put a damper on your ability to just unwind and get through the day… or get through the night.

If you find you’re sweating every single night, you should really do something about it. Not only could it be the symptom of something you should have addressed by a doctor, but it will affect your quality of sleep and make it more difficult for you to function in your day-to-day life. If you’re a woman, of course you’ll have to consider whether it could be menopause night sweats.

It can even be expensive as you start to require more clothing or more bedding or at the very least you end up doing more laundry.

Your doctor will likely question if you’ve experienced in any diet changes or lifestyle changes. To help him pinpoint your problem, I suggest you keep a journal of your activities and diet. Sometimes it can be really difficult to pinpoint a specific food which might be triggering your night sweats. The pattern in your diet which reveals the food item causing your problems may require looking over weeks of data.

Do not avoid the medical possibility just because your are a man. There are men night sweats which can resemble the night sweats women experience with menopause.

You might also monitor yourself for other symptoms. Do you have any pain or discomfort that you have only begun to experience recently? Any kind of changes — not just pains but changes — in the way you feel might provide some lateral way for your physician to pinpoint what is causing you such discomfort at night. Determining what causes excessive sweating can be difficult to identify so start taking data now.

Regardless of whether it is a medical issue or a food issue, you simply must address your night sweating. There are many ways you can try curb it, with special pillows, pijamas and even matteresses to help you stay cool in the heat of the night.

DISCLAIMER: I do hope this helps, but note that I am not a doctor so you must consult with a medical doctor before taking any medical suggestions from the Internet.

I hope they catch the people who did this, but in regard to Indians being attacked in Melbourne i personally reckon it is very over exaggerated by the media. Footscray isn't the best of places to be walking around at 10pm at night, in the end anybody and everybody would have got stabbed.
