I know of a brewery that had their GABF samples for judging opened and upon discovering the contents were beer, they called the brewery and informed them it was illegal to send beer and they would not deliver it! It was past the entry deadline but fortunately the good folks who run the GABF understood and let the brewery re-send the samples.Have you tried UPS? They have that “Adult signature required” sticker and I have purchased beer and wine from online vendors that ship that way.When I have to send beer for work I have to use the “Samples for Analysis” or “Yeast Samples” or “Point of Sale Materials” or some other such contents listing.This doesn't solve the absurdity of that rule but try making friends with a local pack and ship company. My local place trusts that I will pack the bottles well enough that they wont break and in return for an occasional 6 pack he looks the other the other way when I need to ship beer samples.
I complained to my mother that the ONLY backup doggie (Carter's, approximately $4 new) I could find for Buddy after months trawling all possible online vendors, newsgroups, etc. was a used one on Ebay for sale by an EXTORTIONIST for $50!!! I flatly refused to support such a lousy excuse for a human being by buying it, but then someone else did!!! Oh, the horror!!!
