Top 9 Camping Vacation Tips
August 31, 2009 by Hanna08
Here we take a closer look at some top vacation tips that can help you to get the most out of your camping trips. Such trips should be fun and the following ideas will help with your planning, ensuring that you can have the best possible time.
Most of our tips will be applicable to any trips that you take, so it may be worth printing out a copy of them and keeping it safe. Here are nine top tips:
1. Investigate the campsite before you set off: There’s an enormous amount of information online about sites. Take advantage of this to find out key points before you go. Take a look at the map of the area too to see what’s around the site.
2. Make a list of things to pack: If you leave your packing until the last minute then you’re almost bound to forget something. A far better approach is to make a comprehensive list a day or two before you set off. That way, you can tick things off as you pack them.
3. See if there’s anything you need to buy: Your list should act as a prompt. Is there anything on the list that you need to buy before departing?
4. Put up your tent: This may sound like a strange suggestion, but it’s always worth putting up your tent in the garden before you leave. That way, you can check that you have all of the parts, that you know how to put it up and that it doesn’t let any water in.
5. Think about eating and drinking: Consider what you’ll be eating and where? Do you plan on healthy food? Do you need to pack a camping stove? How about pots and pans? Do you need to visit the supermarket?
6. Don’t forget toilet rolls: A real basic but something that many people forget to pack – don’t make the same mistake.
7. Take your own toilet: This is particularly important if you’re visiting a campsite for the first time and don’t know what the facilities are like. By packing your own portable toilet you can ensure a much more pleasant trip.
8. Look up directions and print them off: There’s nothing worse than getting lost on your way to a site! Don’t forget to print off some good directions so that this can be avoided.
9. If you need eletricity, then plan on bringing a small portable generator.
These tips should help you to avoid disasters, meaning that you can fully enjoy your camping trip. Feel free to refer back to this list when ever you need to.

I am in Alabama and here we HAD the PACT program, which started when i was maybe 2 or 3 years old, so many people i grew up with, there parents had paid for this program. but now, as they are 21 and 22 trying to use it, its no longer available because it was just too good to be true. So they got maybe 1 semester or 2 out of this program there parents paid for, but now as they say 'due to financial difficulties' they cant pay for the schooling you already paid for… i'm not sure if this is what you are talking about, but this is what i gathered from it..

I see that the Chronicle Herald scrapped together a new slam from a conversation with David Hendsbee who seems to have little more to offer than hearsay on the situation. However, Eva Hoare managed to string together the conversation as though it is really news. Eva, ONE call just hours before the story was printed to verify facts?? Sounds like an after thought. Were it not for the fact this is Francesca's house, would this story have mattered?? Even Hendsbee himself seems misinformed. He hasn't even talked to Francesca??? He “wasn't sure” and “doesn't know”, “maybe” and “wasn't sure”.
Yep, that the news worth printing. IDIOTS!
Per the article: “As always . . . our first efforts are to work with the property owner to redress the issues in a timely way,” MacKinlay said in an email.
Work with the property owner? Let's just hope so for a change!
Fran, I am still supporting you.
What a terrific letter to the magazine! As someone who once had an eating disorder, comparing healthy blogging to ED is just stupid. I don't take offense; I laugh at this. I just don't get the comparison. Whereas ED's make you obsess about food and think about food negatively, such as what you deprive yourself of, healthy food blogging comments on how great food is, how it can add to a great, joyful lifestyle, and how you don't have to worry about what you eat so long as the ingredients are good. Healthy food has been my road to recovery. Marie Claire…oh, you must be desperate.
For a taupe kinda guy at the moment, Haiku dude, you sure do pick the colorful pieces. MMMMM. Perhaps your sister has point regarding your work? Move into the richess of colors???
Interesting that you think all the pieces are worth printing. Now, how about sixe? 8 x 10? 11 xx 14? small enough to be reasonably priced and yet still large enough for appreciating detail work?
Thank You!
