The Numerous Advantages Of Utilising PEX Tubing

If you plan on remodeling your home, doing new construction, upgrading your existing plumbing system, or installing a radiant heat floor, you will want to check on the possibility of using PEX tubing for your project. It should not be hard to find. PEX plumbing materials are rapidly replacing other materials like lead, copper, iron, and PVC pipes. This is because it has many advantages over the products traditionally used in plumbing.
Because it is made of a high-density polymer, it is very flexible. This means you can bend it around corners without needing an elbow connector. It is strong also, so there is no need to worry about the tubing crushing or crimping. This flexibility is one of the main reasons it is such a popular choice for radiant heat floor installations.
Its flexibility has other advantages. It can be produced, rolled, and shipped in long lengths. This means it costs less to ship. Because it comes in a long, continuous tube, it does not require a lot of connections to get it to the required length. It takes less time and work to install. The job can get done faster and cost less than using other types of plumbing materials.
There is also an environmental advantage to using this type of tubing. Other types of plumbing require acidic flux and lead solder to make the connections. PEX pipe does not require any flux or solder, so there is no toxic chemicals or lead leached into the water or soil. There is also minimal heat loss with this tubing, which conserves energy.
Another money-saving aspect of PEX plumbing is that it prevents expensive repairs later on. Any time you have to add a connection to a plumbing system, you introduce the possibility of a leak. The cost of repairs to both the plumbing and the secondary damage to floors, walls and the foundation can be huge. The minimal connections required with PEX means lower probability of these problems down the line.
If you are considering radiant heat flooring there is something to note. You will need a special kind of PEX that has an oxygen barrier property. Some materials in flooring can corrode with exposure to oxygen, so a variation of tubing was created to eliminate this problem. Be sure your contractor is using an oxygen-barrier PEX for any walkway or floor applications.
So for your next construction project, definitely look into the advantages of PEX tubing. Chances are it will be less expensive, both to purchase and install, than rigid pipes. You will also greatly reduce the risk of costly problems later on.

If you're worried about fluoride, don't be. You will ingest more fluoride from simply brushing your teeth every day than you would from drinking tap water for a lifetime.
Tap water is more easily available than bottled water and it has to go through much stricter cleaning regulations than bottled.
Not to mention the fact that bottled water costs you FOUR times more than gasoline.

My father had a guy with "sneaky gas" show up for an interview…at first, he couldn't figure out what the smell was… the man gave no indication that he was farting… just kept on talking… So, when man left, my dad had to leave his office becuase it smelled so bad, and the receptionist walked right into my dad's office with some air freshener. She said to him moments later… "He was her 10 minutes early… I can't imagine what YOU had to go through being with him for 30 minutes!"
Needless, to say, the guy didn't get the job.
