Introduce A Bit Of Variety to Your Summer Travel Plans

January 30, 2010 by · 7 Comments

Would you like to know about a summer travel destination that offers a tremendous amount of diversity in the vacation opportunities and activities? Everybody has different goals for their summer travel. It may include hitting a bunch of theme parks like Knott’s Berry Farm, or relaxing in the mountains. For others it is visiting the local museums or hiking or deep sea sport fishing.

An obvious destination is the Disneyland Resort, which includes Downtown Disney and Disney’s California Adventure (by the way, the company is spending like a billion dollars on a major renovation of California Adventure over the next several years).

If you haven’t been to Anaheim in several years, you’ll be amazed at the changes. The addition of Disney’s California Adventure alone has changed the whole atmosphere of the Resort, and with the billion-dollar upgrade now underway this will only continue into the future. In fact, people watching at Disneyland can be a fascinating activity, with a rich mix of cultures all in one place.

There are not a lot of other places in the world where you’ll find such a complex melting pot of nationalities as in Southern California. There is a particularly strong presence from Pacific Rim countries, but Europe, Asia and Africa are likewise well represented (not so many folks from Antarctica).

You’ll find quite a number of ethnic communities scattered throughout Southern California, and worth a visit in your summer travel activities. These include Chinatown, Little Tokyo and Koreatown in Los Angeles County. Orange County is home to Little Saigon and Fourth Street in downtown Santa Ana.

Peace and Quiet in Southern Thailand

October 28, 2009 by · 2 Comments

To visitors in Asia, the south of Thailand is home to hundreds of miles of shoreline, some of the most pristine in the world. Many say that many of the most popular Thai locations, such as Phuket – Thailand’s largest island – are just overrun and no longer have their original appeal and charm. But still, that hasn’t stopped the masses of tourists from descending on these beach-side towns year upon year.

While it is true that many places in southern Thailand are overcrowded and well spoilt, it is still possible to find that secluded hideaway and enjoy some rest & relaxation in Thailand. Here are a few suggestions to avoid the crowds and enjoy yourself.

Ko Rok is a pair of twin islands that are frequented by visitors for the amazing coral reefs, in a perfect setting for snorkeling and diving. There are miles of near-blinding white beaches that are relatively quiet. A great choice here is camping; you can find most supplies you need on the island and you’ll take pleasure in peaceful, quiet nights adorned by both stunning sunsets and sunrises.

Ko Tarutao is a part of the Tarutao National Marine Park. Originally developed to build a prison, Ko Tarutao made its claim to on American TV as the backdrop for an episode of ‘Survivor’. Most tourists opt for the hustle and bustle of nearby Ko Lipe, but the national park operates bungalows and camp grounds for those who want peace and quiet.

Editable Photoshop Maps and Code For Your Website, Blog or Joomla Pages

A cool way to present directory results is to use a clickable map that makes it easier and more attractive way for your visitors to find information

With the new JQuery plugin javascript techniques being developed across the net, it is now exciting to use image maps again. For instance the great jquery plugin MapHilight by David Lynch actually hilights areas of coordinates that are plotted in a way that can be easily edited.

Creating a perfect hover over effect for any image map is an ordeal and plotting coordinates to make this effect is even more time consuming but very worthwhile as you can see in this demo clickable map of the UK and Ireland. If you dont pay attention to detail the effect is lost and it wont look good. Perfectly plotted coordinates for county and state maps make a big difference.

However, if you want to have your own design before we even start to plot coordinates you’ll want to make a decent clickable map image and this is a task untoo itself. Tracing borders and states is a time consuming business for any webmaster. I found already made layered Photoshop Image Files of popular country maps complete with all state borders traced with guidance from Wikipedia.

I don’t think there’s really a need to go through the pain of spending hours, days, even weeks making website maps, when you can find ready made clickable maps at about 600 pixels width if you look hard enough like this clickable map of the USA and all the state maps too

Whenever you or your clients need a good quality clickable map of USA, EUROPE or ASIA, you can find full downloadable editable photoshop image files complete with html code to simply cut and paste into your webpage. Just to save hours, days weeks of your time. I’ve heard Joomla users have problems displaying image maps on their pages, You can find a solution for that problem too at www.clickablemaps.com I’ve seen an whole article there on the that very subject.

Break Down Fibrin With Bromelain

August 21, 2009 by · 7 Comments

Bromelain is a name for enzymes found in pineapple. These enzymes can dissolve protein and are used to tenderize meat and as nutritional supplements. Bromelain is thought to aid in digestion and reduce inflammation. It may also have activity against cancer, blood clots, and aid in thinning the blood.

The first isolation of Bromelain was recorded by the Venezuelan chemist Vicente Marcano in 1891 from the fruit of pineapple. In 1892, Chittenden, assisted by Joslin and Meara, investigated the matter fully and called it ‘bromelin’. Later the term ‘Natural Bromelain‘ was introduced and originally applied to any protease from any plant member of the plant family Bromeliaceae.

Bromelain was first introduced as a therapeutic supplement in 1957. Research on bromelain apparently was first conducted in Hawaii but more recently has been conducted in countries in Asia, Europe and Latin America. Germany has recently taken a great interest in bromelain research; bromelain is currently the 13th most widely used herbal medicine in Germany.

Bromelain is a mixture of protein-digesting (proteolytic) enzymes found in pineapples (Ananas comosus). Pineapple has been used for centuries in Central and South America to treat indigestion and reduce inflammation. Bromelain, which is derived from the stem and juice of the pineapple, was first isolated from the pineapple plant in the late 1800s. It is approved by the German Commission E to treat swelling and inflammation following surgery, particularly sinus surgery.

Although studies show mixed results, bromelain may reduce swelling, bruising, healing time, and pain following surgery and physical injuries. It is often used to reduce inflammation associated with tendinitis, sprains and strains, and other minor muscle injuries.

Bromelain is a natural anticoagulant that works by breaking down the blood-clotting protein fibrin. This may help to explain why results of at least two clinical trials suggest that the enzyme can help to improve the symptoms of angina and thrombophlebitis. As well as thinning the blood, bromelain also thins mucus, and thus maybe of benefit to asthmatics and people suffering from chronic bronchitis. There is also evidence that bromelain can trigger beneficial changes in white blood cells, and thus may improve immune function.

Bromelain is available in capsule and tablet forms at your local or internet health food store. It is recommended for best results to take 500mgs three times daily on a regular basis to experience health boosting benefits. Always choose name brands like Solaray and Source Naturals to ensure quality and purity of the bromelain supplement you purchase.

Traveling is one great experience. Working all week long can be stressful because of the demands of your client or your boss. Right away before you lose your mind from all the pressure, you can get a respite from traveling. You are able to go to top vacation spots you have never been in the country such as Alaska, Florida, or Hawaiian Islands. Or you behind travel to places from closer countries Mexico and Canada. However, if you wish to go all out, then you can probably visit the African Safari, experience the great places in Europe, discover the party scene in South America, or go through the wonders in Asia.

As traveling will take you to one or more place for a couple of days, you have to carefully be after the matters that you will need. They are not familiar with the place and the people who dwell in that region. They might lose the cash they have and in the process derail their adventure and relaxation. Making Clickable Maps With Great Hover Over Effects

June 21, 2009 by · 7 Comments

A great way for website owners to categorize their articles or posts or any information related to specific areas or states is to have a clickable map on your web site instead of a dull list of links on your page.

With the new JQuery plugin javascript techniques being developed across the net, it is now exciting to use image maps again. For instance the great jquery plugin MapHilight by David Lynch actually hilights areas of coordinates that are plotted in a way that can be easily edited.

Admittedly to create a great hover over effect requires attention to detail as far as plotting coordinates goes but it’s worth the effort as you can see in my demo of a clickable map of the Germany. Failing to make really tight coordinates can porduce undesired results…..that’s why I have created perfect map coordinates for counties and states for my latest clickable maps. Check out my clickable map of France and its states to see this effect.

OK so we have all the correct coordinates plotted to produce a great hover over effect, so now we need to have a nice map design for the map in question. This is also a tedious job for a webmaster to create and trace county borders…that’s why I have created layered photoshop images with all the state borders traced with the pen tool 1 pixel in black on a white background.

There you have it a ready made kit for making amazing clickable maps for your website or blog, usually at 600 pixels width perfect for most web pages. The whole process of making a clickable map like this from scratch is very time consuming and can be very expensive to pay a webmaster to create this and even worse days and weeks of your own precious time if you decide to make it yourself. Plotting tight coordinates for the 130 counties of the United Kingdom and Ireland clickable map took me two weeks to complete. See the splendid result at my website www.clickable maps.com.

If ever you need a clickable map of USA, EUROPE, GERMANY, FRANCE and ASIA be sure to come to my website and download a clickable map with editable photoshop image and html code and save yourself a mountain of precious time. One last note: Joomla users can experience difficulty adding image maps to their pages, I have a solution at my website and instructions with every clickable map package that I present at my website.
