Google has Integrated “Places” Into Their Organic Listings
Google’s 7 pack has lived up to the rumors surrounding it, moving to the right side of the screen above paid advertisements… Kind of. The map has moved to the right hand column but the “Local 7 Pack” has been integrated into the organic search results.
So far our initial research has shown that the 7 pack results are being placed into the organic results either as a “block”, similar to the previous style, sans map, or integrated into the results themselves.
Changing the Local Search Results…. Why?
Of course no one but the inner circle at Google really knows why they made the change but I would bet that this move has been driven by the trend to mobile internet (smartphone) use . Google reads the same studies that we do and that data indicates that when someone is searching for a local product or service they plan to make a local off-line purchase and so it makes sense to integrate their “Places” data.
What This Change Means for Your Business
Nobody could tell you how much a “Places” listing will help your business, but it is clear that if you dont have an account you had better look into getting one . And, since Google rarely lists more than 7 “Places” listings within the results page it’s imperative that you win on this new battlefield.

Whether you are a professional or amateur photographer, if you got the task to photograph someone elses wedding, you know it is very important to the people getting married and their families that you do a great job! Below you can find some tips so that you can do at least a better job!
First of all, be well prepared! So many things can go wrong way on that special day, so it would be the best that you think about it and prepare a backup plan for each possible hiccup on the way. Have batteries charged, additional set of batteries, memory cards blank, think about the itinerary and the routes you can take in case of any blocked roads, etc. Also, if you can, attend the rehearsal of the ceremony where you can gather a lot of information about the rooms, positions to shoot from, the lighting, the order of the ceremony, etc.
In any case, always get to the venue with plenty of time. The early bird gets the worm, so do not be too comfortable and come together with other guests. If at all possible try and do as many shots prior to the wedding. These are shots no one else got and they really sum up all the tension and stress before the big moment.
Speak to the couple about their style and expectations for your photos. Ask them what is important for them on their wedding. Show them your portfolio so they can get to know your style and know what to expect. Ask them if they want a lot of formal, posed shots, or an emphasis on candid moments.
During the couple shots, help guide the couple into poses and settings that will photograph well, but do not over direct them. Leave them alone for a minute to get comfortable, and then snap a few candid shots before beginning to pose them for the camera.
Also, at times, get a little creative with your shots. While the majority of the photos in the album will probably be fairly normal or formal poses, make sure you mix things up a little by taking shots from down low, up high, at wide angles etc. Do not make the whole wedding album be as any other wedding album. Make you photos fun and interesting!
Wedding is one of the most important and special day for the bride. Take special attention at her! Once the bride is completely ready, do a 10-20 minute shoot (always plan for more) with the bride on her own, doing several peaceful, thoughtful shots of her, close up and showing off the dress in full if possible. A few lovely smiles too.
Furthermore, make friends with the video guy, he is doing an important job for the couple too and it would great if you could be coordinated and helping each other.
As low light situations are very likely, do not forget to bring a fast lens and a tripod with you. Also, do not be afraid to up the ISO, noise is better than blurry people in your photo.
At the end, everything will end up well, it almost always does. Do not stress too much and be patient. You will do a great job!
